West Cherry Street Storm
Cherry Street Drainage Project Update
This drainage project as well as the utility work performed by Columbia Gas and Delco Water contractors is being done in anticipation of the State ODOT Re-surfacing project along SR 37 to be conducted later this summer. Weather permitting; the following timeline will be followed:
Work is to begin Monday am June 19th. It will begin at the Evening Street intersection and move eastward up the hill to the Columbus Street intersection. All work will begin by 7:00 am and conclude at dusk to allow for a one work week road closure.
For that work week --June 19 – 23, 2017-- SR 37 will be closed with a local detour set up to use Columbus Street, Granville Street and SR3 as the detour route for both East and West bound traffic.
After the primary work is done on Cherry St., there will be two additional shorter shutdowns to facilitate man-hole placement at the North East corner of Columbus St. at Cherry Street and the South East corner of Columbus St. at Cherry Street.
No Parking on Columbus Street from Cherry St. to Granville Street will be enforced during the Detour to facilitate two-way truck traffic.
All residents and businesses on Cherry Street from Evening Street to Columbus Street will be asked to park off-site for the five day period from June 19 thru June 23, 2017.
