The Village of Sunbury, OH is accepting applications for the Permanent Part Time (PPT) position of Zoning Enforcement Official. This new position is responsible for reviewing permits and development applications, assisting the Village Administrator and staff with community planning and development efforts and enforcing zoning ordinance compliance through regular reviews and inspections.
Duties: Review final approved development plans to ensure on-going compliance by developers, property owners, tenants and management organizations, regularly review properties for zoning compliance with Village Ordinances, attend and preside over all monthly Planning and Zoning Meetings.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in planning, zoning and/or community development also required, which may be substituted for a degree in a related field of study.
Other: Must be able to work independently with limited supervision and in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other staff and the general public.
Compensation Range: $13.00 - $18.00/ hr.
Hours: PPT up to 16 hrs. per week (no benefits) to start, with possibility of going Full Time (FT) (40) hrs. in the future. Must be available for all Planning and Zoning Meetings which meet the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.
